Manistee Fishing Reports

August 31, 2011

It did not seem to matter today. South to the 4s, north to the 20’s, 60’ to 160 feet everyone caught large fish on pretty much anything they put down. If you were out there you know. The day was overcast and the bite lasted a long time.

   

August 30, 2011

8s & 10s had lots of fish large spoons in Orange & White, bloody nose, meat, and large black attractors and green fly’s seemed to produce best.  The fish are still running large.

   

August 28, 2011

60’ Thermo cline at 50 feet.  Fish hit from 45-65 feet on plugs, large white and black attractors and medium spoons. 9s – 12s from 80-120 feet were productive. The fish are very large, 16-23 pounds.

   

August 27, 2011

Thermo cline moved up to 60 feet and the fish decided Large hooch’s,  in black and white , medium hooch’s in blue & green and medium spoons all worked today in 100-250fow.  15’s & 16’s worked today.

   

August 26,2011

Thermo cline was down to 90 feet. Deep meat was king on Kings today. From 120-185 fow down 120 feet worked well. Nothing else seemed to work very well. 12s and 13’s were productive.

   

August 23, 2011

 Fish remain large and down deeper than last week.  50 feet down early to 100 feet later 0ver 90-135 fow. Magnum spoons and small flashers seemed to work early with meat and large paddles later. The boats are coming in with 3-19 large fish dependent on if they started over fish for the early bite.  There are still prime dates available for September. Call a MAC captain for your date.
